The M/S Katharina is a traditional Indonesian “Phinisi” liveaboard that is a classic, elegant yacht scheduling exciting cultural immersion trips through the eastern Indonesian archipelago year-round. The 12-member crew onboard Katharina is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the area and will ensure an authentic adventure for every guest.
MS Katharina Indonesia is 40 meters/131 feet long and provides luxurious accommodations for up to 14 guests. Each of the 6 cabins onboard is equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, a private bathroom, plenty of space, and a towel refresh service. Excellent food and snacks (vegetarian upon request), tea, coffee, and mineral water are served on board. Guests may relax on the sundeck or in the spacious lounge and bar equipped with a TV, DVD, and music center. A selection of wines, beer, and spirits are also available.

How does everyday get better than the day before? Especially when the day before was the best day ever?? But it's true! Tinae is a fabulous tour leader! Knowledgeable, friendly and fun to be with! Our experience cruising on the Katharina: Birds of Paradise, Whale Sharks and so much more!
There were so many highlights! For us seeing the birds of paradise and whale sharks up close were standouts, but the whole experience of learning about the history, biology and culture of that part of Indonesia will remain with us for the rest of our lives. In particular, learning more about Alfred Wallace (who co-authored the Theory of Evolution with Charles Darwin) and the Wallace Line while visiting the same areas that he did a century and half earlier was amazing.

Paradise in Raja Ampat
Tinae and her crew made us the happiest people on earth. One thing i would like to report is that there are lots of garbage floating in some areas. Indonesian government and communities shall actively clean up them.

Amazing and a must do....
Cruising with Katharina and the smaller boats, snorkeling esp. with the whalesharks, bird watching (bird of paradise), just three guests - plenty of space and private tours, crew with a wonderful Chef in the kitchen and Ari as a great tour guide with lots on useful contacts in and knowledge of the region and the culture, Katharina itself - what a beautiful ship, BBQ at the beach...and much more
