Everything I hoped for and expected
Being able to see so much of the beautiful Seychelles in an interesting and fun way was the highlight. Sea Bird was comfortable but not flashy in any way. The food was plentiful and good and the alcohol prices onboard were reasonable. Staff were competent and friendly. I was honestly not expecting a lot of sailing as I had read previous reviews but the sails were hoisted on the crossings from/to Mahe which added stability and appeal. The rigging and sail wardrobe could do with some maintenance and TLC. The ship is otherwise sturdy and safe and sets a reasonable pace. My only criticism is that in trying to cater to three different types of travelers (those that scuba, those that snorkel and those that just want the beach) creates a lot more work for the crew, and on one occasion, led to some waiting around for divers to return before the rest could enjoy their activity... lucky it is not a hardship to laze around on Sea Bird as there is plenty of space. All up I think the trip delivered on its promises and was good value for money (except for park fees that seemed expensive but did include transport and guides). I would highly recommend to anyone who is up for trying something differnt and is willing to go with the flow. I loved it.
