My partner and I had a great experience aboard the Spirit of Maldives. 10 days flew by, punctuated by great dives, great meals, entertaining evenings and the most professional dive conditions we have seen. This is how a liveaboard should be ran. A great thank you to Jo, Ana, Lukas and Sabah for a fantastic 10 days!

Fantastic trip with an amazing team lead by David who had lots of experience in leading and diving the Maldives.
The highlights of the trip was seeing lots of tiger sharks, silver tips sharks, bull sharks, hammerhead sharks, mantas plus so much much more. However the real highlight for me was having 3 whale sharks at the back of the boat at night for hours (one of them was huge).

The dive site and all the palagic’s we encountered in the Deep South of the Maldives. The Cruise Director and dive lead was a top bloke and knew the dive sites like the back of his hand.. The whole crew was so friendly and helpful. The dive team including the Dhoni crew made the trip so memorable..

Would recommend for a great time diving the Maldives
Awesome trip! Time absolutely flow by because it was so much fun. Really great group of people onboard which obviously helps, also a great crew and great service. You felt in good hands and well prepared from the beginning.This impression continued on board: the processes were professionally structured, always flexible and geared to the well-being of the guests. I was particularly impressed by how the team always found the best possible route despite challenging weather conditions and led us to worthwhile dive sites – even if some originally planned spots were not accessible due to the weather. The alternatives were by no means second choice, but offered fascinating encounters with manta rays, different shark species, living coral reefs and many other sea creatures.A real highlight was the cuisine: varied, lovingly prepared and tasteful at a high level. Every day was a culinary delight. The South Tour - a highlight
The whole team on board the Aqua Queen (Spirit of Maldives) was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We felt very welcome, safe and comfortable at all times. I would like to praise the cook, Nandana, again in particular! What he conjured up for us in the small galley every day was excellent. Local, varied, fresh and always full of flavour - thank you dear Nandana!The guides successfully guided us through the dive sites and showed us the big highlights as well as the small features of the reefs.We felt safe underwater at all times, even if some dive sites had challenged us a bit, and Ana took very good care of us, even if we were more of a chaos troop - thank you Ana for a wonderful time in the Indian Ocean!Many thanks also to Lukas, who organized the whole operation on board and was also able to fulfill special requests!The southern tour kept what was promised! If you like it a little "wilder", you shouldn't miss this unique opportunity!

Decious food , nice staffs and good management
Overall, I had a wonderful experience. The team managed the dive schedule, rest periods, and activities very well. Although a few dives had poor visibility, everything was handled smoothly, and the staff remained friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. The chef did an excellent job — the meals were generally delicious and well prepared. The only area for improvement would be the portion sizes. On a few occasions, some guests and even dive guides didn’t have enough food after the dives. Since diving requires a lot of energy, having sufficient meals for everyone is very important. Despite this, I truly enjoyed the trip and appreciate the effort the crew put into making it a great experience.

Had amazing 11 days onboard spirit of Maldives. Did north Atolls trip. Boat and crew were amazing. Dive guide Joe was brilliant, loved diving with him. We had amazing food on board. A nice sailing through the North Atolls of the Maldives
The trip to the north is well organized. This includes transfer, breafings as well as diving. The crew and the dive team did their best to make the trip as comfortable, intersting and memorable. The boat is quite new and you will hardly miss specifics for diving. The Dhoni crew was nice and experienced too. Tanks are always full 200bar+ and EAN is constantly at 30%. Good time on Spirit
The Spirit of Maldives (boat name Aqua Queen) is an excellent Liveaboard and about a year old. Feels like a luxury boat with it being so modern. Food was excellent, mixture of local and other cuisines, plenty to eat from the buffet style servings. Bar prices were reasonable and especially liked their happy hour (BOGOF), that helped allow guests to socialise and get to know each other as the sun sets. Dive/Boat Manager - Mike, was exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable. He handled some delicate situations extremely effectively whilst maintaining good guest relations. Weather was challenging with winds at 17-19 knts at times which led to careful consideration about dive sites. Hats off to him, he got it right every time! Dive Guides Mauz, Joe and Katie were all excellent as well. Joe even entertains in the evening with his guitar and singing (if you’re lucky!) Crew were genuinely warm and welcoming and special thanks to the Captain and Dhoni crew who navigated the Baa crossing under incredibly challenging conditions. Spirit has an operator has very good customer services, accommodating short notice changes to my travel dates and at no extra cost. As you’re on a boat, if you’re on the lower deck cabins, you may hear the engine if the boats moving, so worth bringing some ear plugs to dull the noise if you’re trying to get some sleep. Came in handy when doing an early crossing. Over all excellent, many thanks Spirit!

Diving-oriented and well-organized trip that ensured maximum relaxation and beautiful underwater experiences.
All in all, a professionally organized diving trip, which was very well received by people like me, who are enthusiastic about diving and can already dive quite well. Highlights were the diverse encounters with manta rays, several shark species, coral reefs and other underwater animals. Due to the season, the visibility was not quite as good and the waves were sometimes bigger, so that not all announced destinations, especially in the north, could be reached. The alternative dive sites, even if visited before, were still worthwhile.

The "Spirit of Maldives" liveaboard truly offered value for money on this Northern Atolls itinerary. The diving was exceptional, with the Mantaray encounters being a definite trip highlight. The dive guides were knowledgeable and ensured safe, memorable dives. The Services provided by the crew were generally excellent—they were friendly and attentive, making the boat experience very comfortable. While the cabins and overall boat comfort were great for a week at sea, the food and drinks could be improved to match the high standard of the diving and crew service. I highly recommend this trip for divers seeking fantastic marine life at a competitive price.

Northern Wonders: the team ( and the whale sharks!) made this a great trip
Great 10 days with too many dive- highs to mention: whale sharks , SO many mantas. Manta night dive, big stuff and small stuff! Lukas & Anna made a great team as boat managers and the crew seemed to all work seamlessly together - meaning that even with 3-4 dives a day, the transition for every dive was as easy as possible . The daily schedule worked really well, and the team managed a few curve balls (replacement dhoni) such that it had minimal impact on the trip. Chefs Nandana and Romesh provided fabulous curries and endless fresh fruits, veg dishes etc. Asanga and Johirul were always cheerful & super attentive at meal times . Adam had an enormous smile every morning when we got on and off the boat and the entire boat and dhoni crew and captains kept us safe and in/out of the water cheerfully & efficiently. Joe was our dive guide and brought his laid back Fijian vibe with him, making dives a pleasure . Aqua Queen was a really comfortable boat. The result of all of the above was that 25 dives over 9 days never felt exhausting. I would recommend and hope that we can return to do the Deep South itinerary .

Fantastic diving on the northern trip
We went on the northern route in September 2025. We had some fantastic diving. There were a tonne of mantas, and lots of dives focussed on finding and watching mantas, including a great night dive with mantas. We saw the occasional reef shark during the trip then had one dive with great visibility and maybe 50 reef sharks circling us, which was awesome. We also saw whale sharks whilst snorkelling, and had a beautiful experience with a whale shark and dolphins approaching the boat at night. The dive guides and other staff were attentive and experienced. The boat is beautiful, brand new, and has great furniture and fittings. We had a great time!

Great experience with Spirit of Maldives
Boat is very large, and the separate dive boat (dhoni) system works very well and allows for the back of the boat not to be cluttered. Cabins are large, individual AC system, beds are comfortable. Mostly, the crew onboard is really lovely and professional, and take very good care of you. Safety is good, dive briefings were provided very well by Lukas and the team was available to answer any question. Dive sites are chosen well and adapted depending on conditions, and the daily schedule works well with appropriate time between dives for rest. Happy hour in the evening is nice too ! Overall would recommend this boat, I would be happy to return with Spirit. Many thanks to all the Crew and the Dive Guides Lukas, Ana, Sul, Joe and Kike, you really made our experience great :)

The boat and crew are absolutely top, the compilation of the route and the selection of dive sites definitely has a lot of room for improvement. We had booked Equatorial Atolls and got Central Atolls
Equatorial Atoll's trip was planned to the southern atolls of the Maldives. The entire boat crew from the captain to the deckhand and also the dhoni crew made the trip a real experience. The palpable friendliness and the very good service for the guests is the result of all the hard work of the whole crew. The boat is generously designed and equipped, the cabins are bright and friendly and leaves nothing to be desired even on a longer liveaboard. Diving at the different sites in the different atolls should actually be a blue chip. We had very good weather the whole time, very little wind and almost always a smooth sea.With reference to the organizer's promise of 'Equatorial Atolls' that the southern atolls Meemu, Dhaalu, Laamu and Thal Atoll will also be dived, the final route was a real disappointment for many guests. The two far southern atolls of Laamu and Thaa were not served. For this purpose, the Ari Atoll has been approached. In the end, only four dives were made in Meemu and two more Dhaalu. In the end it remained an almost classic Central Atoll liveaboard (North and South Male + Ari Atoll and Vaafu and Faafu), where a little below was crossed. The responsible Dive Master & Deputy were very young and also new to the boat. They were supported by a local dive guide from the northern atolls. The pattern of dive planning was soon monotonous or offered little variety: 3 dives a day, 2x channel dives in the morning and morning and a thila in the afternoon. The series was broken by the Whale Shark Adventure and a wreck dive in the South Ari Atoll. As a consequence that many selected dive sites are also fixed points of the classic Central Atoll tours, we were accompanied by numerous other boats at these sites. We counted 8 other boats at the top places. Fortunately, it is still customary for the boats to coordinate somewhat and only a medium number of divers are in the water at the same time. The chance to dive with the dive guide from the Fiji Islands provided real variety during the dives and conveyed an even more relaxed Live & Dive style. All in all, the tour was only good. The weather was super nice, boat and crew make the trip an absolutely positive experience. The omission of the two southern atolls Laamu and Thaa and the replacement by many classic Central Atoll dive sites are a real point of criticism of the diving tour planning. Unfortunately, this was conveyed differently in the description by the organizer. A second essential insight from such a tour is that the experience of the responsible dive team - not the ability, condition or the number of dives of the guides, but the knowledge and condition of the dive sites - has a lot of influence on the success of such a little-traveled tour. Many thanks to the crew, ship ahoy and always good air.

With great lucky that we saw huge amounts of different expected marine life’s, such as a wall of hundreds mantas, schools of reef sharks, eagle rays, and 3 whale sharks and group of dolphins underwater. To make different dive plan for specific dive site for different levels of divers will be more great and much better for balancing experience of all the guests.
