Amazing Diving in Southern Maldives
We saw at least 12 species of sharks, a huge guitar ray, some pristine coral gardens, and had a few nice drift dives. Russ and Kathy were great diving guides.
- Recommended for
- Several different species of shanks and rays, beautiful atolls, diverse diving
Expected more
Lot of precious time underwater wasted waiting for animals to come when we could have seen more reefs. Bad care of air consumption from guides as NDL parameters. (Unsafe) Bad judegement taking divers into dangerous currents (down currents) Cero interaction from dive guides.

Excellent trip in the "low season" (July)
We did the 7 night "Best of Maledives " trip in July and we had a great time. We were very lucky with the weather, sunny days and calm seas, not too much current on most dives. Visibility was hit and miss, but even in lower vis it was great diving. We weren't lucky with a Whaleshark sighting, but we had an amazing Manta night dive. Food and crew were great, the other passengers were nice people, too, which made for a pleasant trip. One negative was that we often had the Sister ship Emperor Leo show up at the same dive sites around the same time, which made for some crowded diving and I'd like to think that this can be managed better.
