Lo yacht MY Amelia Discovery è una fantastica crociera che solca il Mar Rosso. È stata costruita con un preciso focus sulle esigenze dei subacquei. È dotata di 10 cabine matrimoniali e doppie che ospitano comodamente 20 persone. Tutte le cabine dispongono di aria condizionata, bagno privato e ampio spazio per i bagagli. Sul ponte principale si trovano un salone e una sala da pranzo al coperto moderni e luminosi. Ma anche un bar e una sala all'aperto, perfetta per godersi la brezza marina e un drink alla fine della giornata. Anche sul ponte superiore c'è un lounge con bar e zona ombreggiata dotata di tavoli e sedie oltre a un ampio solarium con materassi per prendere il sole o godersi una pausa di relax tra le immersioni.
Le Immersioni dalla crociera M/Y Amelia Discovery partono dalla spaziosa piattaforma per le immersioni situata sul retro dell'imbarcazione. C'è ampio spazio per l'attrezzatura e qui i subacquei troveranno i loro box di stoccaggio individuali. Ci sono sempre due gommoni a disposizione per facilitare l'arrivo ai siti di immersione. Il nitrox è disponibile per i sub certificati. Nice dive trip on a reasonable budget for advanced divers
We did a 8day/7night liveaboard on the North/wrecks/brothers itinerary, and our trip was 40% off due to a promo they were running which made this trip significantly cheaper than other options. We never made it to Brothers due to weather, there were heavy winds and surges in the last week of September. Food was really good and the crew were always very friendly and helpful. We stayed in an upstairs cabin and it was decent. The beds were pretty comfortable and it was nice to ventilate the room a bit since we could open our windows and doors. Overall the room was clean and they made it up daily. However we did have some mold around the sink area in our cabin and the floors were always wet since there’s no bath mats/towels on the floor. I can only recommend this tour if you are Advanced OW certified or equivalent. We were only OW certified and had to take the Advanced OW certification or done adventure dives to visit all the dive sites. While we did receive our advanced OW on the boat we felt we didn’t have as much 1:1 experience with the dive instructors as expected. They just gave us the online course, set aside maybe 10 mins max for the deep dive and navigation dive briefing that seemed a bit rushed since they were right before dives (and the instructors never showed when they said they’d meet us earlier). We did the compass navigation test/deep narcosis test on our dives and that was it. From what we heard from others, their instructors spent a lot more time improving their buoyancy and other dive skills when they did their advanced course in other locations.

An unforgetable trip
Discovery 1 is like taking a 5-star luxury vacation on a budget! The staff was kind and professional and took us to some incredible dive sites. I felt like I saw the very best of the Red Sea over 7 days, and this liveaboard is well worth the money. I had my doubts as a solo female traveler about visiting Egypt on my own, but at no point along my journey did I feel unsafe.

Amazing week on the Red Sea
We booked this trip never having been to the Red Sea before based on the value, itinerary, and the dates. We got on the boat in Hurghada and went north (also Brothers). From the second we boarded the boat, we felt welcomed by the crew. Our cabin was well appointed- we had 2 single beds and a private shower/toilet. There were closet/shelves to store our clothing and gear and the A/C worked very well. They had warm blankets on the beds to keep warm at night when chilly. The only thing I would say was that a mat outside the shower/toilet room door would have been nice since I was slippery with wet feet- we used and extra towel and that worked perfectly. The dive deck was set up perfectly- our wetsuits would hang up between dives, there was a crate for the rest of our gear so nothing got lost. I have a medium sized UW camera setup and though there was no designated place for it on the dive deck, the crew always made sure it was in a safe place. The crew was SO helpful and attentive- helping me get my wetsuits zipped up, to helping me get my gear on, to putting my fins on, and then helping me after the dive, it was great. The dive guides were amazing and the dive briefings were very helpful. I felt very safe in the water, even on the unguided dives. We had 19 dives including 3 night dives, a drift dive, several wreck dives, and tons of wall dives. Last but not least, the food and service. It was superb. The food was top notch (I highly recommend crepes and Nutella at breakfast) and there was always something for everyone. My travel buddy had her birthday the week were out on the Red Sea and they decorated and made a cake for her- truly special. I will warn coffee drinkers that all we had was NesCafe but it wasn’t the worst and it made a real cup of coffee when we were back on dry land that much better. I would hands down return to the Amelia Discovery again- in fact I cannot wait to go back and enjoy another week on the boat with an amazing crew!

Friendly, fun, fantastic
Getting to the remote locations was exceptional and a great way to experience the Red Sea. The whole crew was fun and friendly, while still maintaining a professional and safe demeanor. Our dive guides were AMAZING! Knowledgeable with a great eye for spotting critters. They also split our group into two with similar diving experiences, so everyone felt comfortable and with the right level of guidance.

Good value for money, great food
We were moved to the Amelia's sister boat, Samira, though from what I can tell the crew and the boats are nearly identical. The crew is very friendly and the boat is clean, if a bit sparse. For this price point the dive safari met my expectations, with safe diving and a friendly crew. The food exceeded expectations; mostly western fare but produced with care and enough variety throughout the week. The dive deck was a bit cramped with a full boat and there are no showers for rinsing off after diving. Only real complaint was that our dive group (there were two divemasters and guests were roughly divided between them based on experience), including a few newer divers, had our dives managed a bit too closely by the dive staff for my liking. I understand being concerned with safety but having my air checked five times a dive and being encouraged to stay unnecessarily close with the rest of the group made some dives feel rushed or forced. Overall good value for money though, and a friendly boat crew.

Tolle Woche an Bord, bei der alles stimmte.
Wir hatten eine tolle Woche an Bord, bei de alles gestimmt hat. Angefangen vom Transfer zum Boot, über die Begrüßung, das Essen, die Kabine und den Service an Bord. Auch die Auswahl der Tauchplätze war sehr gut. Es war mit Sicherheit nicht die Letzte Reise dieser Art.
