Excellent value for the money.

My trip was in early March 2025, during Ramadan. I thought that perhaps the crew would be sluggish without food and water during the day, but I was wrong; the staff was superb, very helpful and professional. The dive leaders gave very detail briefings of the dive sites with PowerPoint presentations. Underwater the divemasters were attentive but unobtrusive. We did 2 to 4 dives per day in water that was 69F or 70F (21C). I wore a 5 mm wetsuit plus a 5 mm hooded vest and I was cold. One night dive was canceled due to a strong current. It was usually windy so it felt cold on the deck. I did one-hour dives sometimes guided and sometimes unguided, depending on the dive, for a total of 20 dives. Only on one time we had a strong current during a small stretch of the dive. We did not see larger fish but there were lots of coral and all in good shape. Plenty of smaller fish, a few octopi, a cuttlefish, several crocodile fish, etc. Lots of morays and sting rays. We saw four dolphins underwater going by fast on the first dive, but they did not come back. We did two dives on the SS Thistlegorm and it did not disappoint. Probably because it was early in the season we only saw twice divers from another liveaboard. Our boat had 15 divers. Visibility was good. The Red Sea Aggressor II is not new but it seemed in good shape. My cabin was in the lower deck, with two beds. Fortunately I had no roommate. The cabin was kept clean and the bathroom (with a shower) was adequate. The only drawback to the cabin was that it had two small portholes up high, so one cannot see the ocean when laying on the bed. But the price was right for the accommodations. The briefing on the first night covered what to do in an emergency, but the crew did not conduct a drill, which I think it should be a SOP for all liveaboards. The crew said that the alternative emergency exit for the lower deck cabins was through the front larger cabin, but we did not check it.
