“I just loved this entire trip for Komodo with La Galigo with Tom and crews of La Galigo and amazing divings!”
Highlights
The 33m La Galigo liveaboard in Indonesia is a traditional two-mast Phinisi sailing boat built in 2012. It was designed by an avid diver and built by traditional Sulawesi craftsmen with scuba diving in mind. The La Galigo has 7 en-suite cabins with privately controlled air-conditioning accommodating 14 guests. The suite cabin has a private balcony and a TV. The living and dining area has a large TV, a well-stocked bookcase, and many power sockets for charging laptops, cameras, and video equipment. Guests can soak up some sun on a lounge, relax in the shade, or read a book in the rooftop dining and relaxing area. An isolated engine room makes the motor and generator noises very low. Tasty meals are provided throughout the day. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. For relaxation, there are also outdoor common areas where guests can lounge in reclining chairs, enjoying the ocean breeze. Guests of the liveaboard frequently rate the La Galigo as the best crew experience. Fun and safety are the hallmarks of La Galigo Liveaboard.
La Galigo has a dedicated diving platform at the rear of the boat and a side ladder for loading. There are also two dive tenders, one 6m and one 9m available. The itinerary includes trekking on all different itineraries to places such as the outlook of Penemu and cruising through the limestone formations of Wayag Lagoon and viewpoint. When scuba diving in Raja Ampat, sharks are everywhere under the reefs. The itinerary includes trekking the outlook of Bintang Lagoon and cruising through the limestone formations of Mt. Pindito. Scuba diving in Raja Ampat, where sharks can be found under the reefs. There are some great dive sites around Gam Island with vibrant fish-covered reefs and plenty of macro subjects. The biodiversity is rich, and guests can find Manta Rays, Whale sharks, Wunderpus, Mimic Octopus, Ribbon Eels, Napoleon Maori Wrasse, Bump Head Parrot Fish, Eagle Rays, Pygmy Seahorse, Great Barracuda, Silver Tip Sharks, Bull Sharks, Walking Bamboo Sharks, Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Frog Fish, Batfish, Potato Grouper, HammerHead Sharks, Grey Reef Shark, Large schools of Pelagic Fish, Nudibranchs, and Turtles.

Excellent liveaboard run by experienced, friendly and efficient crew
Highly recommended! Excellent liveaboard run by experienced, friendly and efficient crew. I would definitely recommend La Galigo to anyone looking for a Komodo or Raja Ampat diving liveaboard. I have been on many liveaboards around the world and would count this in my top 1-2! Very difficult to find anything bad to say about it.

- Fabulous crew! Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and well trained.. Incredible food! Some of the best food I've had on a liveaboard. It was a great combination of local Indonesian and Western.. Great dive schedule. Very well planned balance between diving and land excursions. Plenty of diving for those of us that want to be in the water all the time, but also good balance of other stuff for everyone else..

Exceptional experience!
Dive site: Mayhem and so many other great dive experiences. The dive guides were outstanding, finding small creatures, dealing with current and changing conditions.

Flawless
Everything went off seamlessly. The entire trip was perfectly accommodating in every way. The food was absolutely fantastic and well above what I was expecting. The entire crew was welcoming, professional, and went out of their way to help whenever they could. The dive briefings were extremely thorough and made the dive easy because you knew exactly what to expect. The master divers where great and took good care of you above and below the water. They did absolutely everything for you and welcomed you back with delicious snacks and warm drinks. My first liveaboard and all future ones I will be doing have a hard standard to live up to. Would highly recommend this ship and crew.

Ultimate Dive Experience
Hanging in current at the Cauldron watching a free diver swim among Mantas, pygmy seahorses and the friendship that developed between a group of strangers.

Amazing!
We had the best time on the La Galigo back in September 2018! We took the Komodo trip and the entire crew made the experience beyond incredible! The rooms are large, the food was excellent and the diving was superb. We absolutely want to join a trip in Raja Ampat in the future aboard the La Galigo!

Best diving I have ever done
Highlights of my trip included... Getting to dive in currents that I have not experienced until Komodo. Aquatic life including sharks, mantas, turtles with great macro diving at night. Well balanced as we dove frequently but also got to trek through Rinca National Park, climb a small mountain in Pulau Komodo, and see the flying foxes at Pulau Kalong. DL

- The accessibility of the dive sites from the boat. The location. Variability (see sharks, mantas, and great macro life).

Our experience on the La Galigo was most excellent!
The highlights of this trip surrounded the attention to the dive site itinerary. The trip planners and the dive guides balanced the weather with the dive sites to assure optimal exposure to the best possible dive sites. The entire crew could not have been more friendly, and their attention to detail and commitment to ensure an enjoyable trip was quite evident. Chief Gibo was most pleasant and attentive to the dietary needs of the passengers and prepared some excellent dishes every meal...the barbecue on the last evening was top notch! Dive guides Fendy and Dody were both excellent guides and made every dive insightful and enjoyable as well as safe. My wife and I had a spectacular trip and give the La Galigo and her crew our highest recommendation!

- The three best things about this liveaboard were: 1) the dive itinerary; 2) the dive guides; and 3) the chief and his food!
