Highlights
The MV Carpe Vita, a sister ship to the Carpe Diem and Carpe Novo liveaboards, is a luxury yacht offering year-round diving in the Maldives. There are 10 comfortable cabins spread over 3 decks, each with private bathroom facilities, individually controlled AC, storage space, safety deposit boxes, and a desk and chair. On the lower deck are 6 standard cabins, which have one queen-size bed and a super single bed, the main deck has two superior cabins, which have king-size beds, which can be separated into two super single beds and ocean views. The upper deck has 2 VIP spacious suites with a California King bed and ocean views.
Social areas aboard the Carpe Vita liveaboard include the air-conditioned salon and lounge, equipped with a flat-screen TV and entertainment system. Meals are prepared by a fine-dining chef and served semi-buffet style at the back of the boat's open-air dining and bar area. There are 3 partially shaded sun decks with comfortable loungers where guests can soak up the sun and enjoy the sea breeze.
Carpe Vita dive itineraries explore some of the best dive sites in the Maldives. Cruises are seven to ten nights long, and divers can see everything from pelagics like mantas, sharks, and whale sharks to tiny shrimps, nudibranchs, and ghost pipefish. Diving takes place from the accompanying dive dhoni (boat), and free Nitrox is available for those certified.

Good boat and crew, would repeat
Good, clean and spacious* boat with friendly crew that mostly didn’t mingle with the divers (I have no problem with that, and actually appreciated being left alone). They showed nice flexibility in picking dive sites based on conditions. All dives are at air or (recommended) Nx32. The dive guides mostly enforce a 30m/100ft max depth, which was fine for a Central Atoll itinerary (there was only one dive that was worth going deeper, and I did go to 37m without any complaints - although that was toward the end of the trip, so I’m guessing they were less concerned about unknown divers’ skill). Cabins were clean; our cabin (one of two) on the bridge level was good size with a surprisingly large bathroom. Plenty of hot water and A/C. Meals were plentiful and varied, with a good focus on local cuisine but extra stuff for more conservative palates; some of the other diners were vegetarians, and they seemed fine with the variety. 3 dives per day (one on the first day and two on the last) left plenty of time for relaxing. Overall, I would dive CV again. * There were 16 divers on this trip, and it felt “right”. The boat could take 20; I think it’d be fine, although the dinner arrangements would probably feel a like cramped.

Lower rooms need ventilation is an older boat
Boat was large and stable, but lower level rooms had no exhaust fans or dehumidifiers and were stuffy and wet. The bathroom walls were dripping wet all week, bugs stuck to the wall, bed sheets were sticky and wet all week. Crew and diving was all great. Food was good, but a bit monotonous (similar items for 10 days). Would have liked to have some salty snacks available (potato crisps after dives would have been appreciated)

Completely forgettable trip to the Maldives
There were no highlights. We saw 2 Manta, 3 eagle rays, no sharks . Granted we ran into bad weather but there are real issues on this boat. The Captain completely ignored the passengers and requests we submitted were not addressed. We were "supposed" to get night dives and a beach excursion...neither of those happened.. We asked the crew -- their response was "depends on the weather" but they never came back to us and explained why they were not going to do those axtivities. We were on this boat for 10 days and we did have good weather on some days The crew did not interact with the guests. I gave diving 2 stars as the viz was horrible. While my guide did his best all of the guests had questions about some of site selections. the dive guides checked the conditions at the start of each dive ..and then came back and had us jump in to 5 -10 ft viz instead of finding a new spot on a couple of occassions All of the 'guests' were kind and courteous but on our last night when we settled our bills/ tipped the crew the captain did not even acknowledge us /say thank you as he left the boat to go into town Worst liveaboard i have ever been on ..and have been on several

Unforgetable experience in the Maldives
Great dive sites where we were fortunate enough to see just about everything we hoped for, including an unforgettable night feed of manta rays. They split us into three groups, each with a local dive guide. Most brought their own scuba equipment, but the crew was able to assist with equipment malfunctions and other needed items for the trip. Small touches the crew did were very appreciated - including helping us celebrate Christmas with a special dinner and a great beach BBQ. I would definitely recommend!

The trip was great! This was our fourth liveaboard and this boat/the cabins were the most spacious yet :) Amazing food and many options on board for all types of eaters! This was the “Best of the Maldives” tour that visited several atolls and points of interest :)

Friendly vibe, helpful staff, great diving.
The best thing was just living on the Carpe Vita. Beyond that, the captain did a great job of spotting a whale shark and getting us into the water so we could swim with it. Also, our two visits to a Manta cleaning station let us get close to 12 Mantas the first time and 9 the second time. Then the dive guide led us out away from the cleaning station but up at the same level as the Mantas, who ended up swimming alongside us. We also saw tons of sharks and rays. The best diving trip I've ever taken.
