Good boat that a few amenities could fix and make it great
Mantas were the best. Easy diving from the dive boats. Really good crew. Too bad they can't even get a coffee maker on board or a deck shower. AC in the cabin was also very weak, not sure it cooled off the rather small space at all.

Amazing diving with a great crew
Informative dive briefings; guides are skilled at spotting the tiniest of critters; guides and the crew provided excellent service throughout the trip; food was plentiful and varied with a good mix of Western and Indonesian cuisines; pygmy seahorses and mantas

Brilliant trip out of Sorong
Really every dive was outstanding. I've done 5 liveaboards and have 400+ dives, but this was the best. Of course the amazing diving and weather certainly added to the experience. The crew did a great job and the food was the best of the boats I've been on. So good, I've already booked another trip on the Tambora.

Great diving, great food, great crew, terrible rental equipment
The Diving in Raja Ampat is phenomenal. The crew of Tambora was great. The food was really good. The one negative is that they provided sub-standard equipment. Two of the rental BCDs malfunctioned. Flashlights failed on night dives. One should definitely bring your own equipment.

This is the trail less traveled
Sailing and watching the sunrise and set, watching dolphins play and seeing a whale cruise past is part of this relaxing cruising holiday. The diving was great sometimes fishy, pristine corals, amazing macro and some hard core muck. Lots of A lister finds but no promises!

A taste of Raja Ampat
There were many highlights. The amazing corals, prolific fish life and the varied dives. Certainly the mantas were a highlight but there were so many other animals big and small that made up the Raja Ampat experience. The Tambora was a great boat to explore the area. Would I travel on Tambora again? Yes. Will I return to Raja Ampat? Most certainly.
